Background:
This regulated qualification is for learners that wish to demonstrate their skills and knowledge as a Qualified Supervisor for Competent Person Schemes in the UK. It is based primarily on BS7671:2008 (Amendment 3: 2015) 17th Edition Wiring Regulations and associated regulatory documents
The qualification provides under pinning knowledge to comply with current legislation and the new requirements laid out in the Electrotechnical Assessment Specification document 2015.

- H/504/4494 Understand and Apply Health and Safety legislation, practices and procedures ‘Electrical Installations in Dwellings’.
- D/504/4493 Understand and apply environmental legislation, working practices and the principles of environmental technology systems associated with Electrical Installations in Dwellings.
- K/504/4898 Understand and apply the practices and procedures for overseeing and organising the work environment when installing electrical installations in dwellings.
- R/504/4491 Electrotechnical Occupational Competence – Approval of Electrical Installations in Dwellings.
- T/504/5469 Understanding and applying the principles, practices and procedures for the planning, preparation and selection of wiring systems and electrotechnical equipment in dwellings.
- M/504/5471 Understand and apply the principles, practices and legislation for diagnosing and correcting electrical faults in electrical installations in dwellings.
- T/504/5472 Understand and apply the practices and procedures for the installation and connection of wiring systems and electrotechnical equipment in dwellings.
- A/504/5487 Understand and apply the principles, practices and legislation for the inspection, testing, commissioning, approving and certification of electrical installations in dwellings.
Pre-requisites:
There are no formal pre-requisites to this qualification but it is recommended that candidates should have suitable knowledge of electrical theory and must be working with a NAPIT registered firm within the electrical industry. Candidates must have access to a qualified and registered mentor in order to complete this qualification.
Candidates should contact their local centre for further advice and guidance on suitability to undertake the qualification.
Assessment method:
Assessment through work performance activities, short response written assessment, multiple choice questions and On-Site observations.
